I’m excited to share our recent dining experience at Sebastian’s Bistro at Caribbean Beach Resort in Walt Disney World. As a travel agent specializing in Disney vacations, I always seek the best spots for my clients, and this one was worth the visit. Here’s a detailed review of our family’s evening at Sebastian’s Bistro.
Sebastian’s Bistro Reservations
Grabbing a reservation here was a breeze! We scheduled Sebastian’s for the first day of our vacation, making our reservation 60 days in advance. However, availability was still plentiful closer to our dining date.
After a day filled with swimming, we walked over for our reservation at 4:45 PM, allowing us ample to dine and then hop on the Skyliner and attend an after-hours party at Hollywood Studios. With this plan, we had the flexibility to make the most of our day!
Checking In at Sebastian’s Bistro
Sebastian’s Bistro at Caribbean Beach Resort opens daily at 4:30. Although our reservations were at 4:45pm, we arrived a bit early. Although the restaurant was not officially open, we were seated promptly at 4:25pm. (Unlike our long wait later in the week at Yachtsman Steakhouse. Was the wait worth it? Read our review here.) You can check in by walking up to the host stand or using the app, making the process smooth and hassle-free.
Decor at Sebastian’s Bistro at Caribbean Beach Resort
Named after the beloved crab in The Little Mermaid, Sebastian’s Bistro is bright and airy, with vaulted ceilings and plenty of windows. The seating offers a bit of privacy, and the decor perfectly blends beachy and nautical vibes. It’s definitely my decor style! It reminded me of the Yacht and Beach Club, which added a touch of elegance to our dining experience.
Sebastian’s Bistro Food
Now, on to the point important part- the food! Sebastian’s Bistro offers a family-style dining experience, which means all the dishes come out quickly and are perfect for sharing. The menu has a Caribbean twist, giving familiar dishes a unique and flavorful upgrade. Dinner is served daily from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM at a flat rate of $20 per child and $38 per adult, and children under 3 eat free.
Starters at Sebestian’s Bistro
We started with crispy and pull-apart rolls served warm with guava butter and caramelized onion jam. The guava butter was smooth and subtly sweet, a unique combination with the warm rolls. The onion jam was a bit overpowering for our taste, but it added an interesting twist. Our bread plate also included a Mickey-shaped cheddar bread, a fun and tasty touch.
Salad at Sebastian’s Bistro
The Spice Necklace Salad was a mix of greens and kale with spiced candied pumpkin seeds, tropical fruit, and radish, all tossed in a key lime dressing. The dressing’s tartness dominated the dish, but the fresh kale and tropical fruit balanced it out, making for a refreshing and enjoyable salad. It can be difficult to find healthy food options when your grabbing food while at the parks, so I really enjoyed this salad option!
Main Courses for Sebastian’s Bistro at Caribbean Beach Resort:
The main courses included Oven-roasted Citrus Chicken, Slow-cooked Mojo Pork with Mango Sambal, Grilled Chili-rubbed Beef with Mojito Relish, and Sustainable Baked Fish with Veracruz Sauce. Sides were Cilantro Rice and Beans, Vegetable Stew, and Grilled Seasonal Vegetables.
My husband loved the flank steak, while I enjoyed the seasoned chicken with cilantro rice and all the sides. The broccolini’s delicious grilled flavor added a nice touch to the meal.
For the Kids
Our daughter had half a roll and a few bites of chicken for $20. While it wasn’t the best value for her, it might be a hit with less selective kids.
Dessert
The meal ended with coconut pineapple bread pudding, caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream. Many people rave about this dessert, but it wasn’t a must-repeat for us. It’s also served at the neighboring Banana Cabana Pool Bar & Lounge, so if you’re a fan, you have options!
Tips:
If you don’t have a reservation, are in a hurry, or want to save money, head over to Centertown Market next door. Order the Roasted Jamaican-style Half-Chicken with Cilantro Rice and Seasonal Vegetables. It’s pretty much the same dish for only $15, and picky eaters can get mac and cheese for $7. Check out my full review of Centertown Market HERE.
